General Overview
This is where it all begins! In the RADIO Setup stage, you create the foundation for your new scripted scenario. You’ll start by clicking the Create Scenario button. From there, you’ll choose Radio as your scenario type. Next, you will need to give your scenario a short, descriptive name — something that makes sense to you and your team when you look back at your library later.
Optional but Helpful Settings
You’ll see several fields you can fill out to organize and customize your simulation:
Skill Areas Pick the telecommunicator skills this scenario will focus on (examples: Multitasking, Conflict Management, etc.). These don’t change how the AI caller behaves — they’re just there to help you organize and categorize your scenarios so they match the way your agency evaluates people.
Disciplines Choose from Law Dispatch, Fire Dispatch, or Medical Dispatch (or any combination that fits).
Category Decide if this is a High Trauma scenario (content that might be emotionally upsetting to some communicators) or a High Stakes scenario (critical, high-pressure events).
Content Rating Mark it as Community (appropriate for everyone, including the public and children) or Explicit (contains strong language or adult situations).
Ideal Experience Level Let others know whether this scenario works best for Beginners, Intermediate, or Advanced users.
Radio Procedures
You’ll be able to click a dropdown arrow to expand the Radio Procedures panel. Here you can search through your agency’s procedures, preview them, and select the ones you want this scenario to follow. This helps keep everything consistent with how your team actually operates on the radio.
Timing Option
You can let the scenario run naturally until it ends on its own, or you can optionally set a Maximum Duration Time. Use this only if you want the call to automatically stop after a certain number of minutes.
Coaching Content Details
Right below that, you’ll fill in some important coaching fields:
Title for this RADIO Scenario (This can be the same as your scenario name or a bit more descriptive.)
Description Explain the purpose of using this scenario for coaching. Example: “This scenario tests the telecommunicator’s ability to stay calm and professional while entering call data accurately.” → Important: This description stays hidden from the telecommunicator taking the training.
Hide scenario name from Telecommunicator Check this box if you want the user to experience the call exactly like a real incoming call — with no advance warning of what it’s about. This is optional but very effective for realistic training.
Passing Score Choose the minimum score needed to Pass this scenario (optional).
Select Evaluation Template Pick one of your agency’s evaluation templates from the dropdown so scoring lines up with your real standards.
Add to Coaching Packages Choose which of your agency’s coaching packages should include this new scenario.
Next - Once everything looks good, you will click the Next button at the bottom. If you’ve missed anything important or entered something incorrectly, the system will highlight the errors for you so you can fix them quickly. There’s also a Cancel button if you need to back out.
