This article outlines how to configure your radio setup and event matching within the application, including channel and agency settings, CAD-to-radio unit mapping, and tips. Follow these steps to ensure your radio traffic links correctly with events.

1. Accessing the Event Matching Screen

The event matching screen is your go-to interface for linking radio traffic with events.

2. Setting Up Channels and Agencies

  • Each entry should include a channel and a list of associated agencies that use that channel.

  • For channels that are used by all agencies, enter "all" (lowercase, no quotes) in the agency field.

  • The Channel Purpose is an internal descriptive note

πŸ“ Tip: Make sure agency names exactly match those used in your CAD system for proper linkage.

3. CAD-to-Radio Unit Mapping

This setting links spoken radio traffic to CAD unit identifiers. It serves two main functions:

  • Helps visualize the radio traffic in the all radio tab.

  • Supports tools like the linked radio tab.

Note: Mapping accuracy is valuable but less critical for evaluations, as those rely primarily on all radio data.

4. Handling Push-to-Talk (PTT) Systems

  • If an agency uses both PTT and traditional radio, ensure the system can identify PTT IDs on designated channels.

  • The system will fallback to traditional radio mapping where needed.

5. Evaluations and Automation

Radio evaluations compare CAD notes with recorded radio traffic to verify protocol adherence.

  • Manual and automated dispatches can be evaluated.
