This article outlines how to configure your radio setup and event matching within the application, including channel and agency settings, CAD-to-radio unit mapping, and tips. Follow these steps to ensure your radio traffic links correctly with events.
1. Accessing the Event Matching Screen
The event matching screen is your go-to interface for linking radio traffic with events.
2. Setting Up Channels and Agencies
Each entry should include a channel and a list of associated agencies that use that channel.
For channels that are used by all agencies, enter "all" (lowercase, no quotes) in the agency field.
The Channel Purpose is an internal descriptive note
π Tip: Make sure agency names exactly match those used in your CAD system for proper linkage.
3. CAD-to-Radio Unit Mapping
This setting links spoken radio traffic to CAD unit identifiers. It serves two main functions:
Helps visualize the radio traffic in the all radio tab.
Supports tools like the linked radio tab.
Note: Mapping accuracy is valuable but less critical for evaluations, as those rely primarily on all radio data.
4. Handling Push-to-Talk (PTT) Systems
If an agency uses both PTT and traditional radio, ensure the system can identify PTT IDs on designated channels.
The system will fallback to traditional radio mapping where needed.
5. Evaluations and Automation
Radio evaluations compare CAD notes with recorded radio traffic to verify protocol adherence.
Manual and automated dispatches can be evaluated.
