Overview

What is this?

CommsCoach lets you take and respond to calls in languages other than English.

Why am I learning this?

You will, from time to time, be taking calls from non-English speakers. CommsCoach ASSIST helps you communicate with these callers seamlessly.

What will I learn?

By the end of this training, you will be able to…

  • Receive a call in a foreign language and recognize the language is not English

  • Click the "detect language" button to automatically identify the caller's language

  • Allow the system to re-transcribe previous conversation in the caller’s detected language

  • Bring in a language line translator

  • Merge the calls

  • Use the translation box to communicate with the caller

  • Use pre-set questions that can be automatically translated and sent to the caller

  • Manually re-select the correct language from the dropdown menu

Language Detection

  • Calltaker AND system detect foreign language

Press Language Detection button

  • Call taker presses Language Detection button

Ask caller to hold for Translator

  • Calltaker’s typed words are now translated to Spanish.

Press button to Send pre-written questions

  • Send pre-written questions related to this type of incident to the caller in their language. The system will read out the questions and log their answers in English for you.
