Create Position

Key Points:

  • Positions define who is logged in and actively using ASSIST to ensure calls are routed to the appropriate call taker.

  • All positions that will be using ASSIST should be configured.

  • Position identifiers must match identifiers in your call handling system.

  • Positions will be initially configured during the technical kickoff, but any new or updated positions can be configured here in Settings.

Step 1: Go to ASSIST

From the homepage, click the user initials on the bottom left. Click “Realtime” to open the live ASSIST environment

Step 2: Go to Settings in ASSIST

From ASSIST, click the user initials on the bottom left. Click “Go to settings” to open the admin settings

Step 3: Go to Positions

Within the Settings page, go to “Positions” on the left side to configure positions

Step 4: Click “Add Position”

If adding new positions, click the “Add Position” button on the top right

Step 5: Fill out Position details

Using your agency call handling data, identify your position names, identifiers, and the language line extension for that particular position. The identifier should match exactly with the SIP data that is received to ensure calls are sent appropriately

Step 6: Edit and Delete Positions

If needed, admins can always edit and remove any existing positions by clicking on the three dots for that position.
