At GovWorx, we understand that the availability and security of your data is critical to your operations. This article explains how we protect your data and ensure business continuity in the event of any service disruption.

Geographic Distribution

Your data is always stored in multiple locations:

  • Primary operations run in AWS GovCloud (US-West)

  • Within our primary region, your data is automatically distributed across two separate data centers

  • Backup copies are securely stored in AWS GovCloud (US-East)

Backup and Recovery

We maintain comprehensive backup procedures to ensure your data is always protected:

  • Real-time data replication between availability zones in our primary region

  • Nightly backups to our secondary region (us-gov-east-1)

  • All backups are encrypted at rest

What This Means For You

  • Your systems remain available even if one data center experiences issues

  • In the unlikely event of a regional disruption, we can recover your data from secure backups

  • Maximum data loss exposure is limited to 24 hours in worst-case scenarios

  • Most recovery scenarios have zero or minimal data loss due to real-time replication

Service Level Commitments

  • Recovery Time Objective (RTO): We aim to restore critical services within 4 hours

  • Recovery Point Objective (RPO): Maximum potential data loss is 24 hours, though typical scenarios have minimal to no data loss
