Practicing ASSIST Using Simulations

Written by Trish Griffin
Updated this week

What is this?

Simulations allow teams to practice using ASSIST with realistic training scenarios instead of live 911 calls. It also allows new or potential hires to get simulated call support that will match how they take calls on the floor with Assist.

Why is this important?

Simulations help teams build proficiency before live deployment and test Guidecard configurations safely.

Prerequisites

You need:

  1. Proper permissions / access to simulations

  2. Simulations with Smart Caller v2 engine created

  3. A simulation CAD screen with an incident type dropdown

  4. Incident types mapped under Settings > Variable Mapping > Incident Type

Instructional Video

Step 3: Start simulation

Step 4: Hear automated caller audio

Step 5: Enter an incident type

Step 6: Select “Open in Assist”
